Synopsis

Walter White, 50 ans, est professeur de chimie dans un lycée du Nouveau-Mexique. Pour subvenir aux besoins de Skyler, sa femme enceinte, et de Walt Junior, son fils handicapé, il est obligé de travailler doublement. Son quotidien déjà morose devient carrément noir lorsqu'il apprend qu'il est atteint d'un incurable cancer des poumons. Les médecins ne lui donnent pas plus de deux ans à vivre. Pour réunir rapidement beaucoup d'argent afin de mettre sa famille à l'abri, Walter ne voit plus qu'une solution : mettre ses connaissances en chimie à profit pour fabriquer et vendre du crystal meth, une drogue de synthèse qui rapporte beaucoup. Il propose à Jesse, un de ses anciens élèves devenu un petit dealer de seconde zone, de faire équipe avec lui. Le duo improvisé met en place un labo itinérant dans un vieux camping-car. Cette association inattendue va les entraîner dans une série de péripéties tant comiques que pathétiques.

À la suite de sa tragique évasion, Jesse doit accepter son é s'il veut se construire un avenir... ou quelque chose qui y ressemble plus ou moins.

Un film qui fait suite au final de la série Breaking Bad, suivant les aventures de Jesse Pinkman ...

Qu'elle série... les acteurs sont géniaux,la série se concentre sur Walter White, un professeur de chimie sur-qualifié et père de famille, qui, ayant appris qu'il est atteint d'un cancer du poumon en phase terminale, sombre dans le crime pour assurer l'avenir financier de sa famille. Pour cela, il se lance dans la fabrication et la vente de méthamphétamine avec l'aide de l'un de ses anciens élèves, Jessie Pinkman. L'histoire se déroule à Albuquerque, au Nouveau-Mexique. Toutes les saisons sont génial le producteur Vince Gilligan est ingénieux, (spoil) pour vous dire il à réussi à faire un épisode entier sur une mouche, cette épisode nous montres de quoi Walter White est capable. Je vous recommande cette série chaque épisode est palpitant. J'ai ce coffret il est magnifique je vous le recommande vivement est la version Blu-ray est au top!

    Ce coffret DVD de Breaking Bad est tout simplement exceptionnel, tant pour les fans de longue date que pour ceux qui découvrent cette série culte. Le packaging est soigné, avec un design qui reflète parfaitement l’atmosphère de la série. Chaque épisode est un chef-d’œuvre, porté par une écriture magistrale et des performances d’acteurs incroyables, notamment Bryan Cranston et Aaron Paul. Les bonus inclus dans ce coffret sont une véritable mine d’or : interviews, making-of, scènes coupées… tout ce qu’il faut pour prolonger l’expérience. Si vous êtes amateur de séries intenses, intelligentes et captivantes, ce coffret est un incontournable. À posséder absolument dans sa collection !

    Je ne suis pas fan de séries mais j'adore celle ci qui est la meilleur de celles que j'ai déjà vues. J'ai commandé " la suite" "Better call Saul" mais n'ai pas eu le temps de la regarder.

    Quelle claque cette série.

    J'avais laissé é trois saisons avant de m'y mettre car le monde de la drogue et moi... puis la série Weeds ne m'avait pas réellement plu et je pensais que c'était dans la même veine.

    Mais là, quelle claque ! Les acteurs sont juste parfaits ! Je ne vais pas épiloguer trois heures dessus mais chacun apporte ce qu'il faut d'intensité à la série et le résultat est époustouflant.

    Je ne souhaite pas non plus sur-vendre la série : on n'aime ou pas. C'est tranché. Soit on se laisse la première saison pour la mise en place de l'intrigue et de l'ambiance, soit on laisse tomber.

    Je ne souhaite pas spoiler mais je peux dire que les saisons se valent et ne déméritent pas. La fin arrive à point nommé pour ne pas faire tirer en longueur la série ; nous sommes sur un format qui est à la longueur idéale pour cette histoire.

    Pour les BluRay et cette édition :
    Je souhaitais prendre la version collector puis au final... l'intérêt du baril et tout ça ? Bien au déballage, on fait l'intéressant auprès des copains, satisfaction éphémère mais bon, l'important dans cette série, c'est la série en elle-même, pas besoin de superflu pour être heureux.
    Donc je reçois ce joli coffret qui me plaît et qui a comme intérêt d'être compact et de contenir tout ce que l'on veut de sa série préférée.

    Je n'en ai regardé que les saisons que j'avais "sauvé" pour la sortie BluRay, à savoir : 5 parties 1 & 2.
    Qualité BluRay du tonnerre à n'en pas douter, mieux que les RIPs de la première heure. Aussi agréable que sur Arte en HD.
    J'ai eu un soucis sur mon lecteur pendant ces deux saisons... qui n'en sont qu'une... : le son se décalait parfois (un petit coup de retour arrière et play pour revenir en normal). Problème du BluRay, du lecteur ? J'ai mis à jour le lecteur mais n'ai pas vérifié depuis. Je mettrai à jour.

    Le prix est donné par rapport à la qualité de cette série.

    PS : je vous recommande l'épisode MythBusters sur la série mais... à la fin du visionnage complet ;)

    Beau coffret blu-ray de l'Edition collector de 2015 mais ne sert à rien si on a un compte Netflix car la série est dispo en intégrale 4K HDR avec better Call Saul et el Camino.
    Concernant la série, elle est excellente, de qualité, jamais lassé de la reregarder après 5 visionnage complet. Les acteurs sont charismatiques.
    La série est toujours classé numéro 1 sur Allociné, amplement mérité.

    J'ai honte mais je viens tout juste de découvrir cette série sur les recommandations de plusieurs amis.

    Je préfère être honnête de suite, l'histoire de la série, sur le papier, ne m’intéressait PAS DU TOUT et finalement, quelle claque, j'ai été principalement enchanté par la prestation de Bryan Cranston qui est juste magnifique dans le rôle du chimiste chauve mais aussi par le coté à la fois décalé et très sérieux de la série.

    Le script est simple, un professeur de chimie, pas très respecté par ses élèves et ayant du mal à finir les fin de mois avec sa famille, découvre qu'il est atteint d'un grave cancer des poumons et décide de devenir le plus grand fabricant de méthamphétamine afin de ne pas partir en laissant sa famille dans le besoin, tout simplement !

    Concernant le coffret lui même, il est essentiel de comprendre qu'il s'agit d'un coffret intégrale et PAS d'un collector, les personnes ont tendances à rapidement confondre les deux ! Pour le coup, le coffret sans tire bien, compact, sans originalité mais pratique et les DVD sont de qualités avec la disponibilité de la VF mais aussi de la VO !

    ET LA CERISE SUR LE GÂTEAU... un code de téléchargement dans la boite permettant de télécharger ou voir la série intégrale en streaming, gratuitement, légalement, sans limite de vue et compatible tablette et smartphone ! Pour résumer, on reçoit une version physique et une version dématérialisé !

    A recommander de toute urgence !

    Breaking Bad ist Kult. Selbst fast ein Jahr nach der Ausstrahlung der letzten Folge, wird Walter White noch als „Held“ im Internet gefeiert. Die Serie erzählt die Geschichte des Chemie High School Lehrers Walter White, der die niederschmetternde Diagnose Lungenkrebs erhält. Man könnte Breaking Bad auch als eine Gesellschaftskritik der Ist-Zustände in Amerika ansehen. Eine Versicherung kommt für Walters Behandlung nicht auf, als Lehrer verdient er gerade einmal genug um seine Familie zu unterstützen. Dass seine Frau nach 16 Jahren noch einmal schwanger geworden ist, bedeutete eine zusätzliche Belastung für ihn.

    Zu beginn der Serie ist Walter sehr weit von dem entfernt, was wir in späteren Seasons zu sehen bekommen. Er ist ein aufopferungsvoller Familienvater, gutmütig, wenig autoritär, eigentlich ein Hanswurst über den sich alle irgendwie lustig machen. Selbst in der eigenen Familie muss er Spott von seinem Schwager, dem DEA Agent Hank Schrader ertragen. Als dieser ihn zu einem Einsatz mitnimmt, bei dem ein Meth Lab hochgenommen wird, erwischt Walter einen ehemaligen Schüler – Jesse Pinkman. Ein Tweaker und Meth Cook der sich vor allem mit seiner Phrase „Yo, bitch!“ zu einem beliebten Internet Meme hochgearbeitet hat. Die Büchse der Pandora ist geöffnet, Walter und Jesse kochen das erste Mal gemeinsam Meth. Mit Walters Fachwissen und Jesses Szenewissen, gelingt es ihnen ein heißbegehrtes Produkt herzustellen.

    Die stetige Veränderung der beiden Charaktere ist innerhalb der Serie sehr gut zu beobachten. Walter White wird immer skrupelloser, während Jesse langsam erwachsen wird. Ich würde behaupten Breaking Bad ist eine Neuinterpretation der sieben Todsünden. Hochmut, Habgier, Wollust, Zorn, Völlerei, Neid und Faulheit sind deutlich in den Charakteren wiederzufinden. Walter White ist wie ein weißes Blattpapier, dass nach und nach immer dreckiger und zerrissener ist. Bald schon schreckt er nicht einmal mehr vor Mord zurück und in seinem streben nach Anerkennung, Geld und Macht, rückt seine Moral immer mehr in den Hintergrund. Er manipuliert geschickt seine Mitmenschen und bildet ein Netz aus Lügen, in dem er sich vor allem bei seiner Frau immer wieder verstrickt. Im Internet ist Skyler White ein recht verhasster Charakter – sie wird sogar von ihrem eigenen Sohn als „Bitch“ bezeichnet, nachdem sie Walter von den Kindern fernhalten möchte. Dabei ist sie ein instrumentales Werkzeug für ihren Mann und dessen Erfolg. Doch so wie alle um ihn herum, ist sie mit dieser Situation überfordert. Welche Frau springt ihrem Mann schon freudestrahlend in die Arme wenn er erzählt er wäre nun ein Meth Cook?

    Breaking Bad ist eine der besten Serien der letzten 20 Jahre würde ich nun ganz mutig behaupten ohne mich dabei zu weit aus dem Fenster zu lehnen. Überzeugende Darsteller, spannende Scripts und eine symbolreiche Thematik die in einer äußerst aufregenden Verpackung kommt.

    Die Edition in dem Fass ist dabei noch ein besonderer Blickfang im Regal und ich bin froh mir die Box damals bei der 1. VÖ bestellt zu haben. Es ist hochwertig gearbeitet und die Idee mit den blu rays in den Petrischalen ist ein sehr nettes Gimmick. Zu der Schürze und der Münze kann ich nicht viel sagen. Die Schürze ist nach wie vor verpackt und die Münze liegt auch einfach nur in dem Fass.

    Die Qualität der blu rays war in meiner Version einwandfrei, keine undefinierbaren Fingerspuren oder Kleberrückstände wie bei einigen Kunden schon bemängelt wurde.

    I was able to purchase this set 12/13 (a friday) with two day shipping. Once I saw it available, I didn't hesitate to purchase it and i'm glad I didn't. Within 10 minutes of placing the order on amazon, it was sold out again. It arrived the following Tuesday in excellent packaging, which was one thing I was worrying about seeing how a lot of other reviewers have had that problem. Mine was adequately packed with air packs. One side of the box was heavily air packed, the bottom side had quite a bit, the sides and the top also had an excellent amount. I didn't hear any rattling when I picked up the box, which was a good sign. This thing wasn't able to move during shipping, they did a great job with mine. I'm sorry to hear that so many others are having problems with that because this set is phenomenal. I don't think it's fair to rate the set low because of Amazons poor packaging methods that others have experienced, even though I completely understand the frustration from not only buying it for being a fan of the show/set (or giving it as a gift) but also the standard retail price being a good chunk of change (I paid 201 for mine). It's not the sets fault Amazon can't pack properly on those unfortunate orders, don't ding the product itself. Also, if you think you have blank discs, please make sure you know the difference between DVD players and Blu Ray Players, and that you're certain you put these discs in a Blu Ray player. Having worked retail in the past, I can't tell you how many people still don't understand why a BD won't play in a DVD player.

    Now to the set. I've broken this down into sections, so if you're still reading this, feel free to skim it for the pertinent information you're looking for.

    The Outer Container:
    I see what others are talking about in regards to the rubber cement, the outside plastic that contained the barrel had a lid that was sealed with a rubber-cement like adhesive. I tried to be as careful as I could to take mine off, but it was really on there and required some force to get it off, so I fractured/tore the plastic top to it, which is no big deal since it is the outside case after all. Most people seemed to have thrown it away, I saved mine for the purpose of being a dust protector. Plus, it looks pretty nice in that plastic container with the rest of my collector sets.

    The Barrel:
    The design is based off the money barrels that appear in 5B, which I think is wholly appropriate. When I first unboxed the barrel, I didn't really know what to expect. I feared that I would have some missing discs, duplicate discs, or other missing parts to the set. I'm happy to report that everything is intact and just as described. The door is held by two hinges and is held shut by a small magnet and friction. Theres a small indention where the door shuts that's plenty big to grip it to open the door. The first thing I checked was the disc sets and the disc numbers, which were all where they should be. The barrel is very well constructed, it has a nice weight to it and feels rather durable. To me, it doesn't feel like cheap plastic because of how solid it feels. It has a nice BrBa logo on the door and I like it because it's pretty subtle, yet matches the theme of the set. I was surprised by the size of the barrel dimensions, as it was larger than I expected and a lot nicer than some other sets I have purchased in the past. It is probably the largest box set any one will own, as I can't think of many off the top of my head that come close to the size and bulk of this thing. This isn't a problem for me, but it could be for some. Though, I wouldn't let this be a deterrent from purchasing this thing if you planned on it anyways.

    The Discs:
    This is one of the most ingenious designs I've seen for holding discs and it's such an elegant solution and clever alternative to the flimsy cardboard/paper sleeves some sets have. The discs are stored in between acrylic trays that attach through a Y shape form of small magnets (which haven't been a problem for me as some reported magnets coming off almost instantly). These trays all slide into their corresponding slot inside the barrel, where it's actually vertically marked on the right side above each slot, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and F. The discs are all nestled nice and safely in a tray that has a dip that's just the right size to keep the disc in place. As many have seen already, when discs are removed from these trays, the trays can be stacked to form a design specific to the seasons (I.E. S2 trays form the pink teddy bear). On top of this, the design on the discs compliment the trays, like S2 discs being a background of the swimming pool (pink teddy bear + swimming pool). Each season trays and discs all have their specific themes and I absolutely love it. It was a lot of fun assembling it myself to see how each season trays and discs would look like when the trays are placed on top of the disc. It's the small details like these that truly impressed me with this set. You could tell a lot of love and thought went into it's creation.

    The Digital Codes and 16 page booklet:
    I assumed that when it says "Digital copy of the show" that it meant all seasons, but I couldn't find confirmation on that, though I didn't look very hard for it either. I can confirm that the UV codes are indeed for all seasons. There are actually 2 codes on one slip of paper. One code is for seasons 1-3 and the second code is for 4-5B. These are redeemable through the Sony site and the seasons show up wherever you have a UV linked (Like Vudu). I didn't have any problems accessing the show online, so it's possible that the problems others were having with the codes have been fixed through Sony by now. In front of the UV codes paper, lies the booklet with the letter written by Vince Gilligan to the fans. I must say it was quite an endearing letter, it was humorous, bittersweet, and came across as a truly genuine dedication. Further into the booklet, it includes episode titles for each respective season, cover art/artwork for each respective season, and also lists all the bonus content respective to each season. It serves as a well designed "table of contents" or "index". It's a fitting booklet and compliments the set nicely.

    The bonus items/content:
    Once you pop the lid off, which is firmly held in, there's a disc stored by a push button that has the backwards POV coordinates from 5B underneath. This is the two hour documentary. In the barrel itself, you'll see a small money design. This is the Los Pollos Hermanos apron that is vacuum packed with both sides being these cardboard money design inserts. I haven't unwrapped mine yet, so I can't comment on the design or the materials. Underneath this, is the Challenge Coin that Vince talks about in his "unboxing" video, which I think is a really awesome tribute to fans, to include them into something that use to be a cast and crew only thing. Vince can explain it better than I can, so it's worth watching his video. It's made of a heavy material, beautifully painted, and a really neat design. This also has some weight to it and doesn't feel like a cheap token for the sake of having bonus objects to pad this set. I think it's another nice inclusion from Vince to the fans and a worthy item to be placed in this set.

    All in all, this set is worth the MSRP. It's a nice set that pays tribute to the fans who will buy this set and there's plenty of bonus content to keep you occupied. It's a fun set. Shame on all the third party price gaugers for unfarily pricing it though. If you can get your hands on it for it's normal retail price, it's worth every penny.

    This Breaking Bad box set is a worthy release to house what is one of the best shows of all time to ever grace Television.

    Breaking Bad will go down in history as one of the most addictive and popular shows of all time. I didn't catch wind of the show when it initially came out, but when Netflix ads of it appeared on TV, I was more curious than ever. And then I caught a glimpse of the last episode pertaining to Season 1, and I became so enticed by it that I waited until subsequent viewings commenced before watching it from the beginning.

    Before I review the tin itself, I want to address some of the reasons why this show is so special to me. First of all, it has some of the most solid character building of any show I have ever seen, essentially bringing forth a regular family man in Walter White, and completely stripping him of all the ideals that he has came to know for most of his adult life, transforming him into Heisenberg. He went from being an underpaid and lackadaisical chemistry teacher to being the king of meth, and his character portrayal allows us to sympathise with his reasons for doing it, while keeping us conflicted by his methods. He is the most multifaceted character I have ever watched, and I am a film and game buff, so I know quite a number of characters in media.
    Secondly, it has a great set of characters such as Jesse and Hank, who work really well of off Walt in their unique ways, Saul, who really brings a different level of expertise to the business, and Mike and Gus, who both bring the show to some of its most exciting climaxes. To top it all off, the cinematography, pacing, acting, tension and drama are superlative, and I don't think there will ever be another piece of media that will resonate with me as viscerally and intellectually as Breaking Bad does.

    After watching it a couple of times on Netflix, I felt inclined to buy the full Blu Ray collection. I was stuck between the Heisenberg tin and Methylamine Barrel sets. I chose the former because there was just a lot more space for it in my collection. And I honestly wouldn't change it for any other Breaking Bad collection. The tin is so cool to look at, and the Heisenberg logo attracted me to it. It comes with some stickers that represent motifs and plot points found in the episodes. The special features are great, and there is so many hours of them (as well as some commentary on certain episodes and behind the scenes footage) , so any Breaking Bad fan should get their fix from this. I'd say the Half Measures bonus disc satisfied quite a lot of desired curiosity about the series, which made me ecstatic to see features spread among all the discs.

    The last thing I want to bring up about the blu rays are their amazing 1080p quality. The images are far sharper than on Netflix, and this really works really well to the show'a benefits since the camera work, locations and compositions were so meticulous that they commanded attention from me at every moment. The blu rays also have some footage that was left out of Netflix, so it is worth getting either this or DVD collection purely based on that.

    Overall, the tin is a wonderful representation of a truly special show. It has hours of features, sharp picture quality and little nuances from other collections that make it the just buy one for all Breaking Bad fans out there. I highly recommend it.
